Menard Solution
Intends to construct a new multi-purpose terminal at Damietta Port. The project comprises the construction of approximately 630m of quay wall fully equipped to accommodate large container vessels and dredging of an approximately 1000 × 280 m large berthing to a depth of -15.0m CD in a first phase and to a depth of -17.0m CD in a second phase.
Menard carried out the soil improvement works that included the installation of a total quantity of 800,000 linear meters of prefabricated vertical drains (PVD) up to 30 meters depth and the deep compaction of 400,000 m3 of backfilled sand above the sea bed levels using vibro compaction (VC) technique. On completion of the Vibro compaction works Menard will also conduct surface compaction by Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) to compact the top 4 meters for an area of 55,000 m2.
