Menard Solution
The project consist of construction of 2 No’s 132/11 KV substations within the premises of the road link to Mubarak Al Kabeer Port.
Ground conditions
The soil conditions are consistent to depth of approximately 20 m deep of clay after that soil is becoming increasingly stiffer with occasional inclusion of granular material. These clays are underlain by dense sand generally starting between 25 to 28 m deep.
Solution
Considering the previous mentioned soil conditions and the required depth of improvement, and as requested by the client to install Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD), Menard successfully completed improvement works by PVD technique for area of 20,000m2 by using 2 Rigs mounted with chain mast mechanism.
